Budget travelers who always seem to strip down to the bare necessities find it difficult to indulge again. After spending time abroad and limiting themselves to Menu deals or partying only in their hostel; partying back home can be overwhelming. Suddenly, spending over $100/ USD last night doesn’t seem so far fetched. But, you forget that a few months ago, you stretched $20 and lived comfortably.

New York City summers have always been a pleasure; as long as the weather cooperates. Summer 2010 after being spoiled with a Winter Summer in South America has actually been quite pleasing. After meeting wonderful people abroad, I was able to coordinate a summer trip to The Netherlands. As a true budget traveler, I am [...]
One of the most beautiful beaches I have seen in my travels so far was in Railay, Thailand. Phra Nang Beach is the postcard destination you dream of and even when you’re there, it still seems like you’re looking directly at a postcard.
Over the weekend, the buzz over Eat, Pray, Love exploded all over the travel world. Anticipation for the movie based on the true life story of solo female traveler Liz Gilbert has led to one big conversation over the now released film. For now, it seems as if you either love it or you hate it. Personally, the story resonates moments in my life that puts a smile on my face. Scandalous outfits, huge crowds and uproar of madness throughout the city. Little do most people know that the 2nd biggest Carnaval celebration resides in Oruro, Bolivia. It is also part of Mankind’s Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO foundation. I was lucky enough to participate during my South American summer in Winter during one fabulous weekend in February.

I’ve just returned from living and travelling overseas for the last year and a half. The typical question I get asked is “How was it?” to which I can only respond, “It was phenomenal!” At some point, the discussion turns to my experience teaching English in South Korea. I’ll sum up my enthusiasm by saying: best. decision. ever.
The mountains of Wudang (or Wudangshan) can be found in the northwestern area of the Hubei Province in The People’s Republic of China and is part of the larger Daba Mountain Range.
