Every year when June rolls around in New York City, it means a lot of things. Hopefully, nice weather, the end of studies for high school students and the celebration of Puerto Rico. Oddly enough to say, people usually wonder what the second weekend in June means for Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rican Independence Day would technically be in September, to commemorate its independence from Spain. But, the tropical nation isn’t really fully independent, but a commonwealth of the United States.
