CIMG5401There is always that one place that gets to you. Ah yes. You probably took a million pictures here, cried when you left and still miss it to this day. Even though it was a recent trip, I felt like I left my heart in Hawaii.

Maybe it was the fact that it was my first solo trip that made it stand out so much. I felt deeply connected to the people and the culture of island life. Perhaps it was the sweet white pineapples for breakfast, or falling asleep to the crashing waves of the Ocean at night. Or the fact that its 80 degrees all year round!

I definitely left my heart in Hawaii and I hope to soon retrieve it.

Where did you leave your heart? What is one of your favorite places you’ve traveled to and Why?

  • I left my heart in Rocky Mountain National Park- Enjoy the beauty and the stunning views that our world has to offer! My heart is still on Trail Ridge Road.
  • Very nice! How long were you there for?

Oh wow, as soon as I saw this title, I thought, "Ohhh, Hawaii". I went two years ago for a glorious ten days, and although I didn't backback, it was still an incredible experience I would absolutely love to relive. While a native named Free Willy was weaving a basket for me out of banana leaves, I met a man who had come three months earlier for a vacation and had never went home. I thought it was beautiful. When I try to explain my love for Oahu, people get this bored look on their faces like I'm about to start reciting cliches, but I loved it for entirely different reasons. It seemed that everyone (the natives) was so peaceful, like this serene atmosphere you couldn't get out from underneath. I've also always had a love for the fast-paced city life along with the tranquil countryside, and it was a beatiful mix. I'm sorry. i'm going on and on and I'll be near tears soon...Anyway, this is a cool site, I should start frequenting it more since I plan on backpacking for the first time soon

Thank you so much Melody! I'm so glad you were touched. I know what you mean. The people of the island are SO FRIENDLY. My friends there still call me to make sure I'm okay! This is somethinng you don't get in NYC. I'm glad you enjoy the site! Looking fwd to seeing you on here!
  • Congrats! Your first solo trip is always a really big deal. Mine is perhaps in India. :)
  • Ah I can't wait to go to India! Very jealous =P

India is going to be amazing! I can't wait to go!
  • It's not very exotic, but I've said before that if you can fall in love with cities, London is probably the love of my life. I never would have left if my work visa hadn't expired and now I miss it like I would miss a person. I also miss a person I left there very much so that doesn't really help.

Yes, London definitely has my heart.
  • Sounds like you've got good memories there. :)
