New York City

As the first decade of the new Millennium comes to an end, it’s important to realize how much the travel world has grown. Throw in social media clients like Facebook and Twitter and you’ve got the whole world talking about travel. It’s easier to find travel news, travel deals and informative articles about interesting destinations. If you find yourself a member or a fan of the travel world, you should find yourself at this Travel social event in NYC.

If you didn’t already know about the New York City High Line, check out Skylab’s post about what it is and why it is so cool. While Skylab is taking a break in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I decided to pay a visit to the High Line here in our good ole hometown of New York City. It has been here for years and we are not just visiting it. (What awful New Yorkers we are!) It was well worthy of a visit and I am pleased to agree that it is a sight to see.

Got your dancing shoes on? I sure did! On May 16th, 2009, dancers, dance aficionados and tourists came together for an afternoon of sun and dance for the 3rd Annual Dance Parade. This is a tradition for Mike and I, but this year since he is backpacking, (There is always next year!) I made sure to take full coverage of this years dance parade. For many, the concept is strange for a second,”You mean dancing, in the middle of the street?” Why not?

Next Stop: Higher Fares

by Teresa Gotay on March 25, 2009

Imagine having a transit system that ran 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year? A subway system that makes train stops every few blocks, has unique tile mosaics in multiple stations and had a numerous amount of train lines that take you anywhere in minutes. New Yorkers are fortunate enough to have this system. Unfortunately, it comes at a price.
