Note: This was Skylab’s backpack when he left for his trip. Does he have everything he left with?
One of the beautiful things about being a backpacker is never having to worry about lost luggage. You are essentially saving money as well since you are not paying any of the ridiculous fees to store your bag on the plane. But as a backpacker, there are plenty of downsides as to this great rule. Unpacking and packing constantly means one thing: Losing your #$%$%^ stuff.
I see it all the time with backpackers. Perhaps a lost sweater here and there. Oh no! Where did my favorite pair of undies go? Or even worse when you hear about missing iPods, Cameras or other valuable items. The one thing I’ve lost traveling was a warm and awesome $30 hat I took to Montreal, Canada. (You lucky son of a gun with a nice warm hat) I left it in an Italian cafe.
If you’re a backpacker, I’m sure you’ve lost a few things here and there.
Have you lost anything traveling?
Does the fear of losing something make you not take valuable items?
